不怕麻雀

this page is for stuff related to a tapestry I'm making inspired by Mao's 四害 campaign that claimed sparrows, rats, mosquitos, and ticks to be the enemy of the people. My Uncle Paul first told me about this period during or right before ? the great leap forward. He was in Shanghai at the time and would go on his room at sunrise banging on pots and pans to disturb the sparrow population.

A lot of propaganda posters were made for this campaign, collecting some of them here...
